FAQs

  1. What style of yoga do you offer?

    • We offer a variety of styles from vinyasa yoga to restorative yoga. Please, check out our class descriptions for more information.

  2. What are the class levels, and which one is suitable for beginners?

    • Most of our classes are mixed-level classes. We have a Yoga Basics class for people interested in learning foundational yoga basics, but beginners are welcome in all classes. We offer three seated classes each week. The seated classes are suited for people who need extra support, do not want to go to the ground, are recovering from an injury/illness, or want a slower paced class.

  3. What should I bring to a yoga/barre class?

    • Students are welcome to bring their own mats, water bottles and props, although the studio has an extensive amount of equipment if you would like to borrow ours for the class. Dressing in workout clothing is expected in all but the seated classes. Seated classes can be done in your everyday clothing, as long as you are capable of moving in it.

  4. Do I need to book classes in advance?

    • We have an online booking system. Reserving a spot is suggested, especially during the winter months when the studio is at its busiests. Drop-ins are welcome and all instructors can sign you up in person.

  5. Why is my class no longer on the schedule?

    • Our current software program removes all full classes from the schedule, instead of showing the class as full. If the class if full, contact Heather at hquinnyoga@gmail, who can tell you whether there has been a cancelation to the class. We are hoping to have new software that can handle a waitlist. We’re hoping to get new software installed some time in March 2024.

  6. What is the cancellation policy?

    • We understand everyone might have an unpredicted scheduling conflict on occasion. Due to the incredibly busy season that we are in right now, we have are switched to a 6-hour cancelation policy so that we can manage a manual waitlist process until we can switch software programs. If the class is not full, feel free to contact Heather at hquinnyoga@gmail.com to discuss rescheduling.

  7. What is the snow day policy?

    • The cancelation policy is immediately suspended during snow events (LANL or Los Alamos County has either called for delayed start the next day, an early release that day, or a full snow day), as we want our instructors and students to make safe choices. It is better to be safe to yoga another day than it is to push it on any given day. If you do not want to come to the studio during or immediately after a snow event, we will reschedule your class to another day or cancel the class registration.

    • Some classes will move to zoom during a snow event. The instructor will determine whether to cancel or move the class to zoom. The instructor will send out a message to the affected students to tell them what is happening. We will try to do this in a timely fashion.

    • When a class is canceled, the time is refunded on your classpack or your money is refunded for the drop-in fee. If you do not want to zoom in, we will reschedule your class to another day or cancel the class registration.

  8. Are there showers and changing facilities?

    • There is a changing room in the women’s bathroom, but only the bathroom stalls in the men’s bathroom. There are no lockers and no shower on site.

  9. Is there parking available?

    1. We have ample parking by Metzgers or behind the Blue Window.

  10. Where exactly is the studio? Google maps is taking me to an alley behind Metzgers and in front of DALA!?

    • We are to the right of Los Alamos Metzgers and on the second floor of the Exit Realty building. There are two entrances to the Exit Realty building: the front door is on Central Ave and the back door is in the alley by DALA and the Indian Liquor store. The back doors are not guaranteed to be open, but the front door is generally open. If both doors are locked, text Heather at 617-733-8452.

  11. What happens if I have an injury or health concern?

    • Individuals with pre-existing health conditions or injuries should reach out to the instructors for questions about accommodations. We appreciate people staying home and zooming into class, if you have been exposed to any viruses or are actively sick..

  12. Are there packages or memberships available?

    • We currently offer class packs. More information can be found on our pricing page.

  13. Is there a community or social aspect to the studio?

    • We observe community time in between the two Saturday classes. Even if you attend on other days, everyone is welcome to attend. We generally convene at Samizdat.
