Heather Quinn

Heather has believed in the ability of yoga to transform lives from her first class at a Aiki Jiu Jitsu Dojo in Boston on September 11th, 2001. Even in the midst of overwhelming tragedy yoga provided her solace, providing mental space to process the loss and physical peace from the rigors of martial arts training. That first class also sparked a desire to practice yoga, which she continued to pursue long after her martial arts career ended. Yoga has provided a framework for physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual change that has allowed her to grow and change over the years, and to meet life on life’s terms. She believes strongly that yoga meets you where you are at, as long as you are willing to bring your life to the mat on good and bad days. Teaching yoga is a source of immense joy for Heather. She has been blessed with tremendous students, and feels privileged to be a part of her students’ own transformations. She is an experienced register 200-hour yoga teacher and a registered 500-hour yoga teacher with over 1,000 hours of teaching experience. She has a 140-hour specialty certification on trauma sensitivity, and is currently a student in a certified yoga therapy program.

Kathy Gursky

Kathy Gursky started doing yoga at age 50.  She gradually evolved from a dedicated yoga student to a trained yoga teacher at Los Alamos Fitness Center, where she taught a mixed-level yoga class twice a week, and occasionally taught the chair exercise class there as well.  During the COVID closure she switched her mixed-level classes to an online Zoom format, and added the regular, twice-weekly chair-based classes on Zoom for students who do not want to move down to the floor for exercise.  More recently, she has added a Yoga Basics class for in-person yoga training.  This is a gentler, basics-oriented class with a focus on doing yoga to fit your body.

Kathy has completed her 500-hour Registered Yoga Teacher training as well as several 100-hour certifications, including Active (Senior) Adults, Wellness, Warriors, and Women.
